Our Veterinarians

A veterinarian since he was 24, Dr. Heinen has been involved in veterinary medicine for over 29 years. He opened his first office in Pasco County. He then moved on to open and manage, hospitals in Pinellas and Hillsborough County. To be able to devote more time to his clients as well as his family, Dr. Heinen consolidated his resources into Gandy Animal Hospital, established in 1985 in the South Tampa Area. Because of Dr. Heinen's devotion to not only his patients and their owners, but to education, Dr. Heinen has continued his education far above the requirements of a general practioner. He has extensive experience in the following areas: Major/Minor Soft Tissue Surgery, Chronic & Seasonal Skin and Ear Disorders, Orthopedics; including External and Internal Fixations, Patellar Luxation, ACL Ligament and Tendon, Hip-Dysplasia Correction, dental disease and surgery, Eye Disease and Surgery, Ultrasound Techonology, Heart Disease and recently Endoscopic studies. 

Dr. Heinen enjoys spending time with his four children and outside of the office he spends time playing soccer, running, politics and involvement at his church.

Dr. Gladnick originally from Long Island, NY, completed her B.S. in Biology at the University of South Florida in 1990 and completed her doctor in veterinary medicine at the University of Florida in 1994. Dr. Gladnick has traveled around the country helping animals and pursuing her love of veterinary medicine performing emergency rounds in various hospitals in Miami, Orlando and Boston. Dr. Gladnick also served proudly in our Armed Forces as a Captain in the US Army during 1999-2003. Dr. Gladnick has become a valuable member of our facility since 2003. Dr. Gladnick has an affinity for our feline companions and internal medicine.

Dr. Gladnick not only takes care of your animals, but has 4 pets of her own that keep her busy. She has 2 cats; Katie & Toby and 2 dogs, Jake & Shadow.
