Dr. Kelly Long has known she wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 3 years old. She was originally born in Chicago, but used to vacation to St. Pete Beach every year with her parents. Her family later relocated to Little Rock, where she acquired her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in biology/molecular science at the University of Central Arkansas. After 2 years of teaching microbiology, and performing molecular research, she decided to take the jump into veterinary medicine. She made the move to Baton Rouge, and graduated from Louisiana State University in 2015. Since she used to vacation here regularly, the Tampa Bay area is the only place Dr. Long wanted to relocate after her four years in Baton Rouge. Dr. Long has a passion for feline medicine, and is working to become a Board Certified Feline Specialist. She also excels in clinical pathology, internal medicine, and dentistry. When not at work, Dr. Long enjoys time with her 7 cats, 2 dogs, and her husband, Brent. The two enjoy going to the beach, spending time in the pool, and staying active in the community.
